At Ormiston Senior College English, Mathematics and Science are compulsory at Year 11 to keep options open for Year 12. Students choose a further two subjects from the list on page 18 to study for NCEA Level 1. In total, students will study five subjects all year. In addition to this, students will have Physical Education as a recreational subject.

In Year 12 specialisation based on strengths, interests and any career aspirations can begin. During Year 11 the Learning Advisors work with students to help them plan their career pathways and ensure they are taking courses that will lead them in the direction they wish to follow.
