Languages

Ormiston Senior College is committed to offering a range of languages to our students. We have the capacity to offer Spanish and Japanese either in face-to-face classes or by distance learning. Our aim is to progressively grow the teaching and learning of both European and Asian languages.

At the heart of the study of Languages lies the development of the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Language courses will provide you with the ability to converse socially as well as through reading and writing.

An added bonus in learning a language is that it gives you a new perspective on your own language. It will enrich you intellectually and socially as well as providing an insight into another culture.

Where will Languages take you?
Learning a language immediately opens up another culture for you to explore, broadens your horizons and provides a wealth of travel and career opportunities.

The door is then opened to careers as an: international affairs analyst, foreign exchange trader, publisher, proof-reader, translator, interpreter, international banker, bilingual customer support representative, tour guide, teacher, travel writer.
