Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award Scheme - Gold recipients

Ormiston Senior College acknowledges the significant commitment and achievement of our Gold recipients: Taz Lamb, Diksha Nirti and Dwayne van WykAll presentations of the award will be made in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae BNZM, QSO and Lady Janine Mateparae during 2014.

The Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award scheme is "all about young people being the best that they can be." It is about individuals discovering and building on strengths, interests and personality to challenge themselves and give them the ability to deal with everything life can throw at them. The Gold level recognises young adults for completing the most challenging self-improvement award sections for at least 12 months. 


New Zealand Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week teams
New Zealand Secondary Schools Winter Tournament 2013 involved more than 18,000 students at 66 event venues across the nation. In 2013, Ormiston Senior College entered four teams in this national competition. The Netball team competed in Auckland. The Hockey team competed in Ngatea. The Boys Football team competed in Mt Monganui. The Boys Basketball team competed in Rotorua.
Ormiston Senior College acknowledges the significant achievement of the Boys Basketball team who were champions of their competition.
