The New Zealand Experience

Why study in New Zealand?

New Zealand is internationally-renowned for its beautiful landscapes, its relaxed and friendly people and its high-quality education system.  Thousands of students from around the world flock to our schools and universities every year to learn English and to continue their studies.

With a population of around 4.4 million people, our country is sparsely populated by international standards, with most people living in the major cities and towns.

New Zealanders love the outdoors, making the most of our spectacular environment for relaxation, recreation and thrills.  Everything is within easy reach, from mountains to beaches, rolling countryside farms to geothermal wonderlands.  Over recent years, New Zealand’s scenery has been showcased to the world as dramatic movie sets for such blockbusters as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, made by our very own Sir Peter Jackson.

New Zealanders are very keen on sports, with some of our sports teams making it to the top of their codes.  Our national rugby team, the All Blacks, are famous around the world, and in 2010 our soccer team made us proud by making it to the finals of the Soccer World Cup.  We have also won the prestigious yachting trophy, the Americas Cup, twice.  While we are proud of our high-performing teams, people of all ages participate in all different kinds of sports, generally at a social local level.

As well as the outdoor life, we enjoy the city-life and have great cities packed with shops, malls, cafes and entertainment options.

New Zealand also offers a gateway to the South Pacific and Australia, with Sydney and Fiji just 3-4 hours away by plane.
