School Counsellor

Nau mai haere mai ki Ormiston Senior College! Situated in Flat Bush, South-East Auckland, our kura is a richly diverse community with just over 1500 students from Years 11-13. Our Health Centre Team is in an exciting growth phase and would love you to join us in caring for our students.
Position:
This is a part time role, term time only. Initially for 2 days per week, with the potential for hours to increase in the future.
You will enjoy building and maintaining trusting relationships with students that focuses on strengthening their mana and wellbeing, while working closely and collaboratively with staff and, where appropriate, whanau and external providers.
We are looking for someone who:
● Is passionate about working with rangatahi and supporting their wellbeing and success
● Has a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a culturally responsive way of being
● Can work autonomously and together as part of our health team
● Is relational, welcoming and collaborative in all interactions
● Strong organisation and self-management skills
● Is a member or working towards full membership with NZAC
● Is able to work calmly and with a focus on safety in sometimes challenging and complex situations
● A clean and current NZ Driver Licence.
