Week 8 is here! 🗓️ Here’s the rundown for Nov 24–28:

✨ Year 11s: It’s your final week! Rotations run Mon-Thu. Friday is the Awards Assembly starting at 10am. Don't miss the Waiata Challenge beforehand! 🎶

📝 Summer School: On all week for Yr 12 & 13 (Lit & Num).

🧠 NZQA Exams: Make sure you are there early.

In light of recent changes to national education policy regarding the Education and Training Act, the Ormiston Senior College Board, Leadership, and Staff wish to reaffirm our position.

Welcome to Week 7, Term 4!

We're heading into Week 7, and it's a significant one, especially for our Year 11s!

Here’s what’s happening on campus:

🎓 Year 11: Semester 3 Kicks Off! This Monday marks the start of our action-packed, two-week Semester 3 programme! This is an important time for our Year 11s, focusing on building crucial life skills and pathway planning for their future.

This Week's Focus: We're diving straight into a Level 2 credit bump, along with key sessions on life skills & hauora.

Year 11 Timetable: Please note the new schedule for this programme:

At School: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Afternoons: Working from home on Level 2 credit assessments.

📚 Year 12 & 13 Summer School Our Summer School programme continues for Year 12 and 13 students completing their Literacy and Numeracy credits. Keep up the great effort!

✍️ NCEA Exams Continue NCEA exams are still underway. We're sending all our best to students sitting their exams this week. Remember all the hard work you've put in – you've got this!

📅 Term Update: Week 6 is Here!
We've reached Week 6 of the term, and it's been a busy but exciting time! This week also marks the final week of Semester 2 classes for our year 11.

We're delighted to that the NCEA exams have started off well! Our students have been approaching them with focus and determination. Keep up the excellent work!

A friendly reminder to all students with scheduled exams: Please ensure you are at school early on your exam days. Being punctual helps everyone settle in smoothly and start on time.

Looking Ahead: Semester 3 Course For our Year 11's
We're really looking forward to the two-week course that will kick off our Semester 3! This specialised block will focus on preparing our students for Level 2 next year and building whanaungatanga, whilst ensuring students have the skills needed for a smooth transition.

Let's make this last week of Semester 2 count!

Tues 4 Nov: NZQA Exams start today!

Wed 5 Nov: PPTA Teacher Strike (1/2 Day) - Students are released to go home at 12:20 pm.

Thur 6 Nov: Flexed Day - Students are working from Home 🏡.

Please check the NZQA website for full exam details, and plan ahead accordingly! Good luck to all students sitting exams—you've got this!

🎉 A Night of celebration at Ormiston Senior College Senior Prizegiving! 🏆

What an incredible evening last night of recognition and celebration for our outstanding students! We are immensely proud of the over 150 award winners who were celebrated for their hard work, dedication, and amazing achievements.

A massive congratulations once again to all our award recipients! Your commitment to school norms inspires the whole college community!

The Howick Tennis Club are offering high school students a private event, post exam time before the term ends, held on Friday 21 November, 7-9pm.

Suitable for teens of all abilities, we've got a fun night planned with set drills, social games and tennis coaching and we'll finish the night off with a shared meal (pizza and soft drinks included) & mingle.
