School Social Worker

Nau mai haere mai ki Ormiston Senior College! Situated in Flat Bush, South-East Auckland,
our kura is a richly diverse community with just over 1500 students from Years 11-13.  Our
Health Centre team is in an exciting growth phase and would love you to join us in caring for
our students.
 
Position:
This is a part time role, term time only. Ideally suited for someone looking for 3-4 days per
week.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, and motivated Social Worker who enjoys working with
Rangatahi and their whanau to facilitate change and wellbeing. As part of our Health Team
you will play a key role in the delivery and education of interventions that help our young
people to visualise and achieve their full potential. 
We are looking for someone who:
● Holds a qualification, valid social work registration, practice certificate and has at
least 2 years of social work experience in Aotearoa.
● Is resilient and adaptable to providing social work services in a school setting.
● Has a heart for rangatahi and whānau, with an ability to build a professional
relationship and rapport through trust and perseverance.
● Is comfortable meeting with whanau in a home setting
● Has a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how this is meaningfully applied
within social work practice.
● Is culturally responsive in working with diverse rōpū such as rangatahi Māori,
Pacific youth, LGBTQI*, and religious or other diversity.
● Has strong written and verbal communication skills and is computer literate.
● Can take professional initiative while working collaboratively as part of a
multidisciplinary team.
● Holds a full New Zealand Driver's License with no restrictions.
● New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency at time of application.
