Teacher of English

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join
our innovative and future-focused team. This position offers the opportunity
to teach up to NCEA Level 3 and inspire students to develop a love of
language, literature, and critical thinking.
Ormiston Senior College is a Year 11–13 school with a strong focus
on student agency, cultural inclusivity, and personalised learning.

A successful candidate will demonstrate:
Expertise in teaching English to NCEA Level 3
Experience and ability to work with and support Māori and Pacific
ākonga
A collaborative approach to teaching and learning across
curriculum areas
The ability to build strong connections with ākonga and whānau
A commitment to the development of Literacy and Numeracy
within a subject context
A developing understanding of mātauranga Māori and its
relevance in English education
A desire to honour obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
All members of our teaching staff also serve as Learning Advisors,
supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
There is the potential to take on an additional 1 Fixed Term Management
Unit (MU) as Leader of Learning – Year 11 English
